About
A neighbourly place to work on agentic AI.
The Waterloo Agentic is a local, practical community for people building and studying agentic AI in Waterloo, Ontario. It exists so that researchers, students, founders, open-source builders, and everyday practitioners have somewhere honest to compare notes.
Who it's for
- Researchers digging into planning, tool use, and evaluation.
- Students getting hands-on with agents outside of a course syllabus.
- Founders trying to figure out where agents actually help.
- Open-source builders shipping libraries, tools, and demos.
- Working practitioners running agents inside real products or workflows.
What it isn't
Not a consultancy. Not a vendor. Not affiliated with any university, company, or accelerator. When we don't know something, we say so. When something is speculative, we mark it as speculative.
Principles
- Practical. Working code and real trade-offs over hype.
- Honest. No invented metrics, no exaggerated claims.
- Accessible. Sessions and materials designed to include people who use keyboards, screen readers, or need captions.
- Open. Notes and demos shared where possible.
